Jersey City man fatally shot on Woodland Avenue

JERSEY CITY – Rasheed Raysor, age 19, of Jersey City, was found dead of gunshot wounds on Woodland Avenue on May 9.
Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said thatat approximately 3:30 p.m., Jersey City Police Officers responded to Woodlawn Avenue on multiple 911 calls of shots being fired in the area. Upon arrival, the responding Police Officers found Raysor’s a lifeless body. Raysor was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 3:50 p.m. The cause and manner of his death are pending an investigation by the Medical Examiner. The Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.

The death was the fourth murder in the city in less than two weeks.
