EAST RUTHERFORD — A Union City police officer involved in a multi-vehicular crash in East Rutherford on Route 3 on Saturday died on Sunday, according to a press release from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
At approximately 11:12 p.m. May 13, East Rutherford police responded to reports of the crash on Route 3. Sgt. Mark Zeitounian, 44, lost his life in the incident. He was originally from Lyndhurst, and reportedly headed to start his shift.
Officials treated five other people for non-life threatening injuries. They also determined that four vehicles were involved in the collision.
