EGAN, JOANNE

A funeral mass was held May 17 at St. Joseph RC Church, Keyport, for Joanne Egan, 75, of Aberdeen. She passed away May 10 at home. Her parents were originally from Italy and immigrated to the United States before Joanne was born. She was the first generation American family member born in Jersey City. She was a graduate of St. Dominick’s High School. She worked as a waitress prior to her employment as an office manager with Stadium Marine, Jersey City. She also worked in the rectory for St. Aden’s Church.
Joanne was predeceased by her parents, Roderick and Mary Levito. She is survived by her husband, Ronald T. Egan; a son, Sean Egan and his wife Zabrina of Aberdeen; two sisters, Linda Turbone and Virginia Holmes; and two grandchildren, Zenia and Sean Jr. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.
