Dear Editor:
Hoboken has always remembered their service men and women, as we walk past them stop for one moment to say “Thank You”. Our most recent is the 100th anniversary of World War I 1917-2017 my father’s war as he left Hoboken on Troopship Leviathan with the US Marines. Check out these locations: Elysian Park multi monument on 11th and Hudson St., The Civil War soldier on Fourth and Hudson St., 4 Chaplin’s Monument at Church Sq Park, WWI- Boulder Pier A Boulder brought back from France in 1920’s along with bodies being returned, The great WWII Monument at Sinatra Park honoring the 165 Hoboken men who did not return. The names of 9 boys on Vietnam Memorial, Pier A plaque at City Hall. Shulman reported wounded missing action killed in action POW. He did come back, Ninth and Jefferson in gate and Memorial inside ball park but still NO recognition to 3 Hobokenites killed in Korea one by name Fleming.
