HOBOKEN–On Sunday June 4, at approximately 1 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Second and Madison streets in Hoboken on a report of an assault.
The officers arrived and found a 38-year-old female victim who explained that she was walking home when she was approached and grabbed from behind by an unknown male.
“This male unsuccessfully attempted to assault the victim by grabbing her and touching her in an inappropriate manner,” according to the press release from the Hoboken Police Department.
The victim was able to fight off her attacker and call for help and didn’t suffer any serious physical injuries.
The victim described the male as wearing all black clothing and last seen running west on Second Street.
The Hoboken Police Department also released a photo of a man who was near the scene of the incident and who they believe could potentially provide valuable information to further the investigation.
