SECAUCUS – The first World Dog Expo is set to debut this weekend at the Meadowlands Expo Center in Secaucus, according to a press release.
The three-day event, which runs from June 9 to 11, will feature several canine athletic contests, such as dock diving and fly ball; a world championship dog grooming competition; a market for the latest canine products; and appearances by guests such as animal author Deirdre Franklin and Shorty Rossi, star of Animal Planet’s “Pit Boss” show.
The Olate Dogs, winners of “America’s Got Talent” season 7, will also be performing at the Expo.
As the event’s primary mission is promoting rescues, foster programs, and dog adoption nationwide, rescue advocates (including Rossi), will hold book signings and speaking engagements throughout the weekend. The advocates will also serve as special guests and honorary judges for the World Dog Rescue Banquet—an event that will celebrate rescue advocates for their work in their communities.
A one-day pass to the expo is $24.95 for a one day pass and $59.95 for a three-day pass. Children under 12 get in free. For any dogs attending the event, there is a $10 one-time charge. For more information, visit worldexpo.dog.
