Our angel in heaven, Fr. Michael, aka ‘Fr. Mike’

typewriter

Dear Editor:

Throughout the years I’ve written many poems about Fr. Michael and they were all sincere and happy ones, and I always started them with “God made a very special angel

the day that he made you.”

You’ve touched so many lives,

This we know is true.

Writing this poem today was filled with such sadness, there is not much that I can say.

Anyone who ever heard his sermons

left church with a special glow as they walked away.

He brought so many young and old back to hear the Lord’s prayer.

It was always so special when he was there, he added his hug to each and every mass, and we waited on line too just to get a handshake or smile, and yes, Fr. Michael, there will never be another you.

But you always preached that when God called you, Mikey, it’s time for you to go.

You would be ready and willing and let everyone know that you would be happy in heaven and go on with the show!

Thanks for being such a special part of my life.
