After playing the (4-0) Bruins twice, this season the (0-4) Blackhawks hoped to muster enough offense to end the Bruins’ winning streak and get back into the race in the JCC of Bayonne Jr. Division Floor Hockey League. With both squads exhibiting solid defense, the game stayed scoreless for fifteen minutes. For the Blackhawks’ David Matos, Toni Rivada, Aviv Talmor, and Amir Asouti took turns smothering shots and clearing the zone while the Bruins’ Anthony Baez, Nathan Caballero, and Sebastian Echeverrybrick walled any Blackhawks’ advance. Sensing the tone of the game in the early going the Bruins stayed patient and finally cashed in as Edward Denne scored off an assist by Louai Asouti. Down 1-0, the Blackhawks’ Logan Servodio stepped by zipping a half dozen shots on net but the Bruins’ Nathan Caballero held firm as he guarded the net. Entering the final ten minute stretch, the Bruins caught fire as Denne and Baez assisted Christian Benson on two much needed goals to lift the Bruins’ advantage to 3-0. Desperate for points, the Blackhawks went down swinging as Amir Asouti tried his best to spark a surge but once again the Blackhawks’ offensive woes sealed the outcome with the Bruins improving to (5-0) by registering a 3-0 victory.
