Pizza Masters are the Bayonne Cal Ripken Major League champions

In a battle to the end, Bayonne Cal Ripken’s Major League Team, Pizza Masters, came ahead to beat Verve for the 2017 Major League Championship title. Pizza Masters has won the title three years straight. In an extra inning, tied at 10-10 in the bottom of the 7th inning, Jose Angel Valverde gets up to the plate and hits a grand slam winning the game 14-10. This was Jose’s 8th RBI of the evening. He hit a home run earlier in the game scoring three, plus had a single scoring one. Kyle Peterson pitched the first inning, before Tyler Giordano came on to pitch an additional five innings, followed by Ezekiel Castillo who closed out the top of the seventh inning clearing the way for Pizza Masters to come up with the win.
