A mass of Christian burial was offered June 27 at St. Anne’s Church for James B. Riccardi, 63, of Jersey City. He passed away June 22 at Jersey City Medical Center while surrounded by his loving family. Born in Jersey City, Jimmy remained a true native son of the city he loved. He was a graduate of Marist High School and attended Belmont Abbey in North Carolina. A pipe fitter and member of Local 274 for 40 years, he retired on June 1. Jimmy was loved by everyone. He had a tremendous sense of wit and was a master storyteller who kept everyone engaged. He was passionate in how he lived and how he loved particularly with his love of cooking, the Oakland Raiders and most of all, his family. He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jimmy was predeceased by his parents, Benedict and Eileen and his brother Michael. His is survived by his wife of 28 years, Patricia (Nee Tomczak); children, Matthew, Lisa and Daniel; granddaughter Madison; sisters, Lois Anne Gross and Mary Ellen Branagan; brother Martin Riccardi; his devoted pup, Jack and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to mention but all dear to him.
