Man arrested with one and half pounds of marijuana at Journal Square


JERSEY CITY — Michael A. Regalado, 23 of Brooklyn was arrested on Aug. 5 at about 3:45 p.m. after a routine bag check at the Journal Square transportation complex uncovered a pound and a half of suspected marijuana.

Uniformed Port Authority Police Officers were conducting bag safety checks at Journal Square in Jersey City when the suspect’s backpack was checked by Port Authority police officer Jamie Oliva, and the suspect was allegedly found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. The suspect was arrested by Port Authority police. One and a half pounds of suspected marijuana was allegedly recovered from the suspect. Some of the marijuana was in raw form and some in cereal bars and brownies, according to police. THC concentrated oil and paraphernalia were allegedly found in the suspect’s possession, according to Joseph Pentangelo, senior police public information officer.

Regalado was charged with Possession of Marijuana with the intent to distribute, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of CDS (THC oil) and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia.
