SAFFORD, MARY MAGUIRE

92, of Point Pleasant passed away on August 20, 2017. Mary was born in Bayonne on December 10, 1924 to Catherine (nee: Griffith) and William McGuire. She was a resident of Bayonne until 1985, when she and her husband Lenny moved to Point Pleasant upon his retirement. A 1941 graduate of Holy Family Academy, she went to work for Royal Globe Insurance in Manhattan, leaving in 1947 to take up her chosen profession of homemaker. She was a member of the Saint Andrew’s Rosary Society, Holy Family Mothers’ Club, and Saint Peter’s Prep Mothers’ Club, and served as a den mother for the Saint Andrew’s Cub Scouts. Mary was the mother of Katherine Ramus (Joseph, deceased) with whom she resided, Leonard and Linda Safford and Mary and Christopher Curioli. Also left to mourn her passing are grandchildren Pamela and Stephen Belton, Christopher and Allison Ramus, Michael Ramus, John and Kelly Ramus, Aileen and Michael Esposito, Matthew and Nicole Safford, Lisa and Mark Reilly, Frank and Patty MacKinney, Carolyn, Sarah, and Laura Curioli, and eighteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Robert and Stelle McGuire, and sister-in-law Marge McGuire, and many nieces and nephews.
