MARTINELLI, SERGIO

A funeral mass was offered Sept. 26 at St. Lawrence Church for Sergio Martinelli 87, of Weehawken. He passed away Sept. 21. He was born in Jersey City and lived most of his life in Weehawken. Sergio was a Terrazzo Mechanic for the Mosaic, Tile and Terrezzo Union of New York City for many years before retiring. He was an Army veteran serving during the Korean War and was a past commander of the Weehawken VFW. Sergio was voted Mr. Hudson County and Weehawken Senior of the year in 2010 and was a member of the Weehawken Elks as well as an Usher at St. Lawrence Church and a volunteer at the P.E.R.C. Shelter in Union City.
He was the husband of Lillian Martinelli and the father of Jane Cipoletto and Dean Martinelli and wife Cathy. He was the grandfather of Dana Cipoletto and fiance Abraham and Nicholas Martinelli as well as the friend of Patrick Petrullo.
