Hoboken Elections

typewriter

Dear Editor:
As a Hoboken resident, chairman of the Hudson County Young Republicans, and Treasurer of the New Jersey Young Republican State Federation I am proud to endorse Joshua Einstein for Hoboken City Council. Just as it is in currently in vogue to attack Republicans for believing in any immigration policy, an assertive foreign policy, cutting job killing red tape, and allowing people to keep more of the paycheck they earned; in our city’s political culture it has become fashionable to ignore our parking deficit, high taxes, use of bonding for far too many spending projects, anti-small business climate, and our byzantine municipal masterplan and regulations.
That is why Einstein is the City Council candidate Hoboken needs.
Uniquely, he was one of the first council candidates to declare and decided to do so independently from Hoboken’s many, various, and tired political factions. As the unbossed candidate, he has had the liberty to identify the issues that challenge Hoboken and effect myself, fellow residents, and our city as a whole. I have known Einstein since moving to Hoboken, he has been involved in Republican and Jewish circles, taking a leadership role in outreach and growth in both. From his crucial role in starting Moishe House Hoboken (the local branch of an international non-profit) as well as the Hudson County Regional Jewish Council, to his recent and successful run for Republican State Committee from Hudson County (an elected position within the party), he has always stuck to his convictions while keeping an open ear for those with other opinions and experiences. Whereas many describe Hoboken’s political climate as that of middle school cliques and infantile insults, Einstein has a track record of engaging in the battle of ideas and participating in dialogues. On November 7, I urge all of Hoboken to vote 1-I for Einstein, he is the candidate offering an honest critique of our cities ailments without pandering to special interests. He is the City Councilman we need.

Evan Lazerowitz, J.D.
