Dear Editor:
Since 2010 the Hoboken YMCA has been closed to the public. This remarkable facility had served our neighborhood for generations, offering something for everyone regardless of age or income. The Zimmer Administration has remained silent on this sad state of affairs. Hoboken, unlike our neighbors in both Jersey City and Union City, has no public pool.
Angelo Valente is running for City Council-At-Large in the next election.
Among his many interesting proposals includes developing a partnership with the (former) YMCA to reopen this much-needed community center immediately. I encourage everyone to read about his platform (www.ValenteForHoboken.com).
I’m confident you will be impressed with his creative approach to improving the quality of life in Hoboken. I plan on voting for Angelo Valente, 3-I, on November 7.
Thank you
Amy Ribot
