Hudson Catholic has announced that four students have been named Students of the Month for September based on their grade levels.
Senior: Katie Boyle – Katie is a resident of Bayonne and a graduate of Nicholas Oresko School #14. She is a De La Salle Scholar whose favorite subject is Engineering. She has been voted “Student of the Month” in all four years at Hudson Catholic. This year, Katie was elected Student Council President. She is a member of the girls’ varsity soccer team as well as the varsity basketball team – she is the captain of both squads. She also plays on a travel soccer team. She is also a leader in Lasallian Youth. In the summer, she coaches a kid’s swim team. After graduation she would like to pursue a career in special education focusing on Autism. Katie’s uncle Mr. Terrence Matthews is the Dean of Students.
Junior: Adonis Hall – Adonis grew up in Houston, Texas where he was an honor roll student at Mirabeau B. Lamar High School. He moved to Jersey City this past summer and transferred into Hudson Catholic. His favorite subjects are British Literature and Anatomy and Physiology. An athlete, Adonis plans on playing football, basketball and Outdoor Track for the Hawks. He is also interested in music and photography.
Sophomore: Sabina Del Rio – Sabina grew up in Guadalajara, Mexico where she attended Colegio Martín Luther King Jr. School. She moved to Jersey City after graduation. Her favorite subject is Chemistry. She is a member of the Girls’ Tennis team and the Art Club.
Freshman: Elizabeth Hernandez – Elizabeth is a resident of Jersey City and a graduate of St. Nicholas School where she received awards in Math. Her favorite subject is Algebra. She is a member of the Hawk Girls’ Tennis team. She is also a member of the Cooking Club, Art Club and the Hawk Drama Society. Elizabeth is the younger sister of Matthew Hernandez ’17 who is currently attending Penn State.
