HOBOKEN–The Hoboken Police Department is investigating a flyer which was allegedly distributed over the weekend with a picture of mayoral candidate Ravi Bhalla and the statement, “Dont let TERRORISM take over our town.”
According to a press release from the police department, it is investigating this as a “bias incident.” It needs the public’s help in identifying two individuals who are allegedly persons of interest in the case.
The press release states that On Friday Nov. 3 at approximately 8:40 p.m. councilman and mayoral candidate Michael DeFusco called police to inform them of an unknown man allegedly disseminating altered DeFusco campaign literature that pictured councilman and mayoral candidate Ravi Bhalla and read, “Don’t let TERRORISM take over our Town.”
Defusco’s campaign workers alerted DeFusco to the flyers and immediately called police and began to gather the fliers from vehicles, according to the press release.
Hoboken Police checked the area for the individuals allegedly involved but did not find them.
If anyone has information as to the identity of any of these people, or you are the person pictured, please contact the Hoboken Police Department at (201) 420-2131 or (201) 420-2106 and ask to speak with a detective.
