Putting a bow on 40 years!

To the Editor:

On October 28, Bayonne Youth Soccer Association (BYSA) hosted the first Annual Boo Classic Family Day Fest. The event was a resounding success with well more than 500 local girls and boys participating. From start to finish, the atmosphere was festive with music, skills competitions, all-star games, great food, and so much more for every one of all ages. Our community put forth a tremendous amount of good will for the benefit of our local youth. Without the assistance of local businesses, community leaders, and dozens of volunteers the day of festivities simply could not have taken place.
First and foremost, thank you to our two Premium Sponsors, BCB Community Bank and RWJ Barnabas Health. The support provided by both locally based businesses paved the way for not only this year’s event, but many future BYSA functions as well, which will continue to support our local youth.
A special thank you to our business partners, Capelli Sports and New York Red Bulls. Both of you came through with prizes, games, field flags, tents, activities, and much more.
BYSA would like to extend our gratitude to the following local businesses, all of which contributed significantly to the events success: Alex and Terry’s Deli, Antonio and Vincent’s Italian Bakery and Deli, Bayonne Diner and Bistro, Bayonne Produce, Bayonne Patio Bar and Grille, Buon Appetito, DJ Kurt, Dunkin Donuts (North Street), El Aguila Dorado, Elbaums, Fontana’s Pizzeria and Restaurant , Giovanni’s Salumeria, Houlihans Restaurant, Joe’s Pizzeria, La Guardiola Gourmet Pizza and Bistro, Little Food Café, Longhorn Steakhouse, Manhattan Bagel, Mama Rosa Cucina and Pizzeria, Mona Lisa Pizzeria Ristorante, Paulanto Bakery, Philly Pretzel Factory, Pizza Masters, Pompeii Pizza, RWJ Barnabas Health, Senerchia Meat and Deli, Stop and Shop Supermarket, TGI Friday’s Restaurant and Bar, Vital Signs and Lettering, Walmart, 3 Brothers from Italy Pizzeria, and 22nd Street Meat Market. Their donations included food, gift cards, monetary sponsorships, and any items necessary to host this event. Thank you to all of our community donors. Without your additional support, the flavor of the day would have been bland to say the least.
BYSA would also like to extend our gratitude to the following individuals: Hudson County Freeholder Kenneth Kopacz, Michael Ascolese, Karen Brazicki, Karen DeFazio, Thomas Deleo, Russell Fallacara, Massiel Ferrara, John Halpin, Deanna Iengo, Samuel Jimenez, Christine Moro, Pamela O’Donnell, Annette Rolon, and Teresa Syed. Without your courtesy, professionalism, and willingness to take the actions necessary to assist in any way, this event could not have taken place.
BYSA would also like to thank the Sherriff’s officer assigned to the event, all of the volunteer efforts of our coaches, board members, significant others, and many high school girls and boys lending a helping hand for their community.
Finally, and most important, BYSA would like to recognize all the youth participants who came to Stephan Gregg Park for the event. With the games, hospitality, and generosity provided by our community, you helped make it a very special day. For your continued support and participation, we thank you!
