Union City High School to hold Thanksgiving-style meal for new immigrant students

UNION CITY – Today at 3 p.m. the Union City High School will host a “Port of Entry” Thanksgiving-style dinner. The annual event is done to welcome students that are new arrivals to the country. These students have been in the country less than a year.
“We’re trying to acculturate them,” said Chris Adbato, who oversees all the bilingual students at the school. The dinner started 10 years at the now defunct Emerson High School, Adbato said.
