BALLAS, GEORGE

A funeral service was held Nov. 17 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, Jersey City, for George Ballas, 58, of Secaucus. He passed away Oct. 31. He was the husband of Foula; father of Eleanna Ballas and husband Michael Murphy and Alexander Ballas; brother of Christine Tsirogiannis and husband Evripides, Klio Siafakas and husband Alexander. He was predeceased by his brother Steve Ballas, was uncle to many nieces and nephews, and a dear friend to many. George loved carpentry and woodworking. He owned a catering business and a deli. His other interests included sports, skeet shooting and music. George was a long-time parishioner of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Jersey City.
