To the Editor:
Everyone should know about and oppose the almost secret plan by state DEP Commissioner Bob Martin to create a second marina at Liberty State Park. Apparently, the Commissioner plans to sign a lease with the operators of the existing marina to create a second marina along the Southern part of the park without public hearings and without the consideration of the next governor. Commissioner Martin should be urged to abandon the plan which will disturb the natural habitat alive with various seabirds and water fowl, walkways with unobstructed views, and a safe place for kayaking with manageable boat traffic. He should at least delay the project until the next governor takes office.
