A water main broke at 43rd St. and JFK Blvd today; Yesterday a water main break at 55th Street and Broadway; both are under repair

BAYONNE – Crews are finishing repairs to the water main break on 55th Street and Broadway that occurred yesterday, December 28, dropping water pressure for most residents and leaving some without running water. The Bayonne Office of Emergency Management said that the few residents experiencing interrupted service should see a return to full service today. Repairs of 55th Street and Broadway are expected to be completed today.
Another, smaller, break at 43rd Street and Kennedy Boulevard was reported today by Suez, the company that manages Bayonne’s water utilities. Kennedy Boulevard is closed from Dillon Drive to 45th Street. Water service was not interrupted due to this smaller water main break. There is no need to boil water, according to Suez.
