A memorial service will be announced for later this spring for James A. English, 79, formerly of Hoboken. He passed away Jan. 8 at his home in North Brunswick surrounded by his family. He was born and raised in Hoboken, and lived there most of his life before moving to North Brunswick in 2012. He worked for American Can and Groov-Pin. After retiring, he enjoyed spending his days at United Decorating on Washington Street in Hoboken. Jim was a Yankee fan. He was an avid collector of postcards and Hoboken memorabilia. Jim was also very proud of his Irish heritage. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas and his sister Kathleen. Surviving is his sister Mary Haugh of Little Ferry, formerly of Weehawken, as well as his nieces and nephews, Patrick and Lisa Haugh, Catherine and Michael McGowan, Kevin and Bethany Haugh, MaryPat and Jon Sabato, and Anthony Haugh. Uncle Jim will be dearly missed by his great nieces and nephews, Emily, Matthew, Patrick, Sam, Sean, Isabella Rose and his adoptive grandson Randy Olivier.
