UNION CITY — The North Hudson Fire and Rescue fought a massive blaze on Friday near John F. Kennedy (JFK) Boulevard, between 24th and 25th Streets. According to a local resident, the fire started on 26th Street in North Bergen. An official said at least one public housing building was affected.
Smoke could be seen coming from a source near the JFK intersection Friday afternoon around 12:30 p.m. and a section was closed to traffic.

At least three people were displaced and needed temporary shelter, officials said.
