96, a lifelong resident of Bayonne, entered into eternal rest on March 9, 2018 at Bayonne Medical Center. Casimir served his country proudly in the United States Army during WWII, earning the Victory Medal, the American Theater Ribbon, the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster and the European African Eastern Ribbon. Casimir was a life member of the Military Order of Purple Heart. In 2010, he was awarded the Legion of Honor Chevalier by the president of the French Republic. After completing his military service, Casimir worked as an electrician for 32 years with the Shell Oil Refinery in Sewaren, NJ, retiring in 1983. Casimir was predeceased by his parents Vincent and Mary (Kowalska); his sister Hedwig Wisniewski and his two brothers, Adam and Joseph Szefler. Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Mary Rath and Martha Carpenter, his brother John, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements by DWORZANSKI & SON Funeral Home, 20 E. 22nd St.
