Hoboken to give away free trees Saturday

HOBOKEN–The Hoboken Shade Tree Commission will be giving away 2,000 small trees (saplings) on Saturday, April 28.
The trees are suitable for backyards and large pots but are currently too small as street trees.
Tree species include Kousa Dogwood, Willow Oak, Eastern Red Bud, White Pine, Bald Cypress, Cornelian Cherry, Persimmon, Chestnut Oak, Swamp White Oak, Black Walnut, Sycamore, and Northern Red Oak.
The trees will be available for pickup from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hoboken Public Works Garage located on Willow Avenue between Observer Highway and Newark Street.
