CUSTODE, WILLIAM VITO

A funeral mass was held April 28 at St. Ann’s Home, Jersey City, for William Vito Custode, 91. He died April 22 at Peace Care St. Ann’s Home, Jersey City. Born a lifelong Jersey City resident, he was the son of the late Catherine Annicchiarico Custode and Nicola Custode. Willie retired as a senior baker after many years of service with Sabrett Bakery, Jersey City. For many years he volunteered as a sexton at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Jersey City where he was well known and well respected. Predeceased by his siblings Frank Custode and Elizabeth Custode Grabowski, he was the uncle of Thomas, Anthony and Catherine and cousin of Joseph Jannuzzelli, Josephine Freda, Anna Youngclaus, Dr. Donald Fricchione and their families.
