A mass of Christian burial took place May 21 at St. Joseph R.C. Church for Jane M. Brennan, 79, a lifelong resident of Jersey City. She passed away at the Jersey City Medical Center on May 16th after a brief illness. Born and educated in Jersey City, Jane was a graduate of Jersey City State College with a B.A. in Education. She taught second grade in the Carlstadt School System for seven years, before becoming a senior court clerk for the Hudson County Superior Court. She served for over 25 years, retiring in 2001. Jane was a partner and driving force of family-owned Brennan’s Florist in Jersey City. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church. Jane is survived by her husband James T. Brennan, Sr.; her children, James T., Jr. and his wife, Lelia, Timothy L. Brennan, Terence and his wife Melissa. She was the grandmother of Caitlin, Erin, Jenna and Ryleigh Brennan. She was the sister of James McNeil. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
