HOBOKEN — The Hoboken Historical Museum at 1301 Hudson St. will host a screening of the award-winning LGBT film “LOVE WINS” with a Q&A featuring the stars of the film and the filmmaker Robin Kampf.
“Love Wins” is a half-hour documentary that tells the story of two women, Jan Morre (83) and Emily Sonnessa (87), who met and fell in love during a time when doing so was taboo. During this time they raised a family of three children while keeping their relationship a secret.
During New Jersey’s Pride Month, the couple’s story offers a look into how gay couples in the mid-20th century lived double lives, fearing being “outed.”
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the film screens at 7 p.m. Friday, June 15, followed by Q&A. Light refreshments will be served. Tickets are $10 at the door, $5 for Hoboken Museum members. Seating is limited and reservations are advised.
Reservations can be made at https://tinyurl.com/lovescreening.
