Hoboken Museum to screen award-winning LGBT film

HOBOKEN – The Hoboken Historical Museum will host a screening of the award-winning LGBT film “LOVE WINS” on Friday, June 15, at 7 p.m., with a Q&A to follow featuring the stars of the film and the filmmaker.
“Love Wins,” by award-winning filmmaker Robin Kampf and featuring a local Ocean Grove couple, continues to win awards and be selected for screenings throughout the United States.
The film, which profiles Jan Moore and Emily Sonnessa and their decades-long struggle for equal rights and marriage equality, was just picked as an official selection at the Vail Colorado International Film Festival this spring.
“Love Wins” has won Best Documentary short at the Red Bank Indie Street Film Festival, the Garden State Film Festival, QFEST LGBT Film Festival, abd the New Hope International Film Festival, and was an official selection or finalist in the Black Maria Film Festival and the Jersey Shore Film Festival.
The film has been screened at several venues in New Jersey to sold-out audiences and continues to make the national film festival circuit.
“The film tells a story that is unique, yet one which everyone can relate to”, says Kampf. “It’s a love story that reflects a time of struggle and changes to our culture and society”, Kampf added.
The half-hour documentary was a labor of love for Kampf and took two years to produce.
