Control Services beat Stop and Shop, 2-1. Control clinched the regular season championship when Emma Flores bested Olivia Weber in an excellent pitching duel. Emma pitched a two-hitter, struck out 16, walked six and got two hits. Olivia gave up eight hits, fanned 13, issued four free tickets and got a base hit. Emma won her own game in the top of the sixth when she broke up a 1-1 tie with a single. Olivia drove in the first run for the shoppers with a single in the home half of the second frame; Emma scored the tying run in the fifth when she drew a free pass then came home on a fielder’s choice; Samantha Boehm got two hits, including a double; Maddie Ashe also got two base hits, while Emily Matos and Erica Payamps got a base hit apiece. Madison Barrios got the other hit for Stop and Shop.
CWV defeated FMBA, 13-7. Sheila and Annie O’Neill, Arianna Castaldo and Caitlin Gaetani all got two hits for CWV with Annie getting a triple while Sheila and Arianna pounded doubles, Kylie Galano and Emilee Martin both had base hits. Sydney Fogu had three hits for FMBA and Payton Maguire also had a base hit.
