GREENE, CATHERINE ROBINSON

passed away on June 6. Born in Bessemer, Alabama on September 25, 1931 to Fannie Mae Tyler Robinson and Zopher Robinson. Catherine moved to Trenton, NJ, and subsequently to Bayonne, to study nursing. In 1953, she married Richard J. Greene. In 1954, their first son, Gregory, was born. Three more children followed: Theresa in 1955, Leslie (“Hook”) in 1958, and Kevin in 1960. These three children married Joseph Brown, Donna Branch and Cheryl Forde. Catherine was a nurse and administrator at the Jersey City Medical Center, Patrick House as well as Snyder High School, and Lincoln High School as a school nurse. Catherine was active at St Patrick’s Church, The Concerned Community Women, The Astor Place Block Association, and the League of Women Voters. She was a proud member of the Improved Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the World. She also leaves behind her brothers, the late Aubrey, and Carl; her sisters-in-law, Ruth Robinson, Mimi Allen and Rose Goodman, numerous nieces and nephews, her grandchildren Lauren and Jessica Greene and Michael Brown, and her great grandchildren, Jada and Jaden Johnson. Honorary children survive as well, who were proud to call her “Mother Greene.” Funeral arrangements by COTTON-PARKER Funeral Home, 37 Clinton Ave., Jersey City.
