A mass of Christian burial took place June 27 at St. Aedan R.C. Church, Jersey City, for Denis I. Howe. He was born, raised, and was a lifelong resident of Jersey City. He was a graduate of St. Aedan’s Grammar School and St. Peter’s Prep, and then went on to Detroit University to earn an engineering degree. Denis then continued his studies at the University of Pennsylvania, earning a master’s degree and eventually his doctorate, both in engineering. Denis retired from the Lockheed Martin Corporation, where he worked as an engineer. A devout Catholic, his love for the Catholic faith was exhibited at St. Aedan’s Church and St. Peter’s Prep, where he was a select member of the Donee Society. He served his country during the Vietnam War as a captain in the Army, and was awarded the Campaign Medal.
Denis was predeceased by his parents, William and Gertrude, and his younger brother, Gregory. He is survived by his brother, Bill.
Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
