Police seek information on alleged shooter

HOBOKEN – The Hoboken Police Department is seeking information after shots were reportedly fired around 8 p.m. Sunday evening July 1 in the area of Third and Harrison streets in western Hoboken.
According to a press release from the department officers spoke with witnesses and canvassed the area but found no evidence such as shell casings or bullets, victims, or suspects.
The witnesses reportedly described the alleged shooter as a light-skinned male in a hooded sweatshirt. According to the release, he exited a vehicle, possibly a dark-colored Buick, fired a weapon west three or four times, then got into a second car (possibly a dark BMW) which fled south on Harrison Street.
“Detectives are currently investigating what motivated this incident and if anyone was a specific target,” states the release.
