HOBOKEN — According to the agenda for the Wednesday City Council meeting, the company managing the Washington Street Redesign project has requested a 29-day time extension, which will be discussed during the meeting at 7 p.m.
T&M Associates had already received a time extension, which gave them a deadline of Aug. 21. The second extension would aim for the completion of the project on Sept. 21.
In a letter to the city included in the council documents, T&M Associates writes that they may need an additional 147 days to complete the project.
“At the request of city administration, our office evaluated the remaining contract work to be completed against the rate of production of work completed to date and it is evident even the revised completion date of September 21, 2018, may not be sufficient… with six (6) intersections remaining to complete drainage, rain garden, curb extension, ADA compliant ramps, traffic signal, microgrid conduit, milling, paving, signage and striping installation, our office projects an additional 3.5 weeks per intersection, or additional 147 days, may be needed beyond the time approved within this change order.”
Hoboken’s Washington Street Redesign may now be finished at end of September
