ALLEN, JOHN JOSEPH SR.

Funeral services were held July 8 at Monumental Baptist Church, Jersey City, for John Joseph Allen, Sr., son of the late Ousy and Katie Allen. He passed away July 3. He was born in Jersey City. He attended the public schools of Hudson County and graduated from Lincoln High School and later attended Rutgers University and received a degree in Business Administration. He was united in holy matrimony, on April 27, 1957, to the late Rosemary Daniels Allen. This union was blessed with three children Sheila, John Jr. and Lori. At an early age, John professed his faith in Jesus Christ and was a member of Monumental Baptist Church for over 70 years. He served faithfully as a Trustee and a member of the Chapel Choir, Men’s Choir and the Voices of Monumental. John was retired from Public Service Electric and Gas Company where he worked for 35 years. He was active in the community and served in the Army National Guard.
