Hudson Regional Hospital holds summer festival

The threat of rain did little to discourage people from coming out to Hudson Regional Hospital’s Summer Fun Festival in Secaucus on July 15.
Although designed to serve as a venue for health education, the event featured family events that included face painting, balloon animals and water activities. Fitness classes included everything from yoga to weightlifting. Some visitors came to sample the various food choices.
Extremely popular with the kids was the petting zoo that includes rabbits, chicks, goats, and a ride on a pony.
There were health and wellness services sandwiched between the various other vendors that filled the hospital parking lot. There was even music and other entertainment.
Formerly Meadowlands Hospital, Hudson Regional opened its doors under its new name on Jan. 1 after it was purchased by real-estate developer Yan Moshe, owner of Excel Surgery Center in Hackensack, who had experience in the medical field in New York and elsewhere in the state. Moshe promised to maintain the 200-bed hospital and improve its level of service.
One of the key promises made by Moshe was to reach out to the community and provide more access to the staff and its services through events such as these. Earlier this year, the hospital look part the Secaucus street fair, and this second event is part of an expanding strategy to reach out to the community.
