MALANKA, ANTHONY D.

Funeral services were held Aug. 5 for Anthony D. “Tony” Malanka, 89, of Secaucus. He passed away peacefully among family on July 30 at his home. Born in Union City to the late Daniel and Philomena (Malanka, Anthony was a graduate of Emerson High School, where he was an All State football player and inducted into the Emerson Sports Hall of Fame. He graduated from New York University with a bachelors of science degree from the School of Commerce. He was also a Korean War era veteran.
Tony held various executive positions, including president, at C.F. Malanka and Sons, a construction and waste management firm. Predeceased by two wives, Barbara (Pomeroy) Malanka and Alma (Tyler) Malanka, Anthony is survived by his sons Daniel and his wife Susan, Thomas and Stella Targi, Tim Malanka-Pomeroy and his wife Elizabeth Pomeroy, daughters Toni Anne Malanka-Nunez and her husband Wilfredo Nunez and Donna Caggiano and her husband Jim; grandchildren T.J., Patrick, John, Anthony, Roni, Josh, Katie, Daniel, Ingrid, and Sonja; and great-grandchildren Robert and Jude.
