The Hornets’ storybook journey had to end. Their grit and hustle brought them this far. 1-8 regular season record, they finally figured the game in the last 2 minute game. But like in life, lessons never end. They faced a more prepared team in the Lakers, who lost in last year’s finals, making them ripe for this championship. In the first half, they played zone, only to find out Egar and Khal were making their shots. Kevin Walker’s 42 points kept the Lakers close. First half score was 33-30, Hornets. As a seasoned team the Lakers made adjustments and played man to man defense. This game was close till the 5:20 mark in the second half. Tyrone Hicklen’s dunk somehow demoralized the Hornets. The Hornets had to play catch up. And that’s another lesson they have to learn. Kevin Walker and his 42 points led in all scoring and is our MVP of the championship. Congratulations to all players.
