Hoboken Italian Festival begins Sept. 6

HOBOKEN–The Hoboken Italian Festival begins Thursday, Sept. 6 and ends Sunday, Sept. 9 along Sinatra Drive from Pier A Park to about Third Street.
The four-day celebration offers musical entertainment, games, food, fireworks, and celebrates the feast day of Madona Dei Martiri.
The festival will begin Sept. 6 at 5 p.m. with an opening ceremony and performances by Johnny Maggio, Alexandra DeMattia, Changing Lanes, and DJ Onesti.
On Friday, performances will begin at 6 p.m. by DJ Rey, DJ Macho, Judy Torres, Lime, Boriqua Posse, Dani Dante, Alus, Roger Oretega and more.
On Saturday, participants will celebrate the Feast day Of Madona Dei Martiri starting with mass at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Church at 308 Jefferson St. followed by a statue processional around town. The festival will open at noon. Performances include Johnny Maggio, Sinatra Stylings of Nick Pontarelli, Vanessa Racci Band, and MGM Band.
A fireworks display will begin at 9 p.m.
On the final day of the festival, beginning at noon, performances will include, One95, Dan Amato & The Sentimental Gentlemen, Gruppo Nostra, R3 Brothers, and more.
There will also be the annual Grape Stomp Contest between the Hoboken Fire Department and Hoboken Police Department, and the winner of the 50/50 raffle will be announced at 9:15 p.m.
