Second man arrested in Lembeck Avenue murder

JERSEY CITY – Alexander Harris, 29, of Jersey City was arrested on Sept. 18 by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit. Harris is the second man charged in the alleged murder of Eric Crocker of Bayonne on Sept. 4.
Harris has been charged with murder and related charges.
Previously, on Sept. 15, an arrest was made of Jahmir Thomas, 20, of Jersey City, also in connection with Crocker’s murder. Thomas was similarly charged.
Crocker suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his torso after gunfire erupted in the area of Lembeck and Ocean avenues on Sept. 4.
Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said after a preliminary investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit a warrant was issued for Thomas’ arrest on Sept. 14. Members of the Jersey City Police Department Street Crimes Unit arrested Thomas without incident.
The Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit continues to actively investigate this case with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.
