ZIEK, CHIARA THERESA

A funeral mass was offered Oct. 20 at St. Ann RC Church, Hoboken, for Chiara Theresa Ziek, 69. She passed away Oct. 16. Born in Hoboken to Edith and Paul Lopes, Chiara graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Rutherford and went on to earn a master’s degree from New Jersey City University. She dedicated her career to the students of Weehawken Public School District for 25 years as a school counselor who took great pride in her work. At home, Chiara was a loyal wife, mother, and she spoiled her grandchildren with hugs and laughter. She will be deeply missed. Chiara is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Paul Edward and Kelly Ziek; her three grandchildren, Paul, Marguerite, and Nolan Ziek; her two sisters and their spouses, Paula and Frank Darling and Esther and Donald Grauso; plus, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Edward James Ziek. Services arranged by the Failla Memorial Home, Hoboken.
