Hudson County creative types: Come network!

Growing in Jersey City hosts 'creative networking night' countywide

Come meet other Hudson County-based creative folks and talk about your projects and goals at an event on Monday. Tickets are available in advance.

The group Growing in Jersey City, which hosts monthly events around Hudson County for people to get together and network, is hosting an event in Hoboken for the first time, this Monday, Nov. 5, from 7-9 p.m. at Northern Soul bar, one block from the Second Street light rail station. The “creative networking night” will include refreshments.

The guest speaker this month is novelist, essayist, and newspaper editor Caren Lissner, whose first book, the humorous Carrie Pilby, was made into a comedy film that’s currently running on Netflix and stars Nathan Lane, Vanessa Bayer, Gabriel Byrne, and Jason Ritter. Lissner’s articles, essays, and political satire have appeared in venues from the New York Times to Atlantic.com. Full-time, she edits the Hudson Reporter newspaper chain.

Lissner will talk about overcoming all the challenges to get one’s work produced, published, etc. All are encouraged to come talk about their creative or entrepreneurial projects, goals, and dreams. (Her other writing can be found >>here<<.)

Tickets to the event, which includes refreshments, are lower priced in advance (click here) and more at the door. For more information, click here.
