WomenRising Hosts gala honoring women and families

Over 300 community members gathered at The Liberty House Restaurant on Wednesday, Oct. 17 for WomenRising’s Annual Celebration of Service Gala, to celebrate the resilience of WomenRising’s clients and the dedication of their honorees.

Cindy Nan Vogelman, partner at Chasan Lamparello Mallon & Cappuzzo, was the recipient of the Above and Beyond Award for her consistent commitment of time, talent and treasure to the organization. The Hoboken Girl team was presented with the Volunteer Service Award for their creative and consistent efforts to engage the community and support WomenRising in meeting the needs of women and families.

In a statement, the organization declared, “With all that has happened in regards to women this year, it has become more evident that organizations like WomenRising are absolutely necessary to protect and defend women. WomenRising is grateful to have supporters and community members who understand this. A $2,000 pledge from BCB at the event stimulated other donations and helped WomenRising’s Celebration of Service raise over $150,000 to continue to assist more than 10,000 women and families each year through crisis to self-sufficiency.”

“Before there was Harvey Weinstein or Donald Trump or Brett Kavanaugh or the #Metoo movement, there was WomenRising,” Cindy Nan Vogelman Esq. said. “For the past 113 years, WomenRising has provided direct services to women and their families, quietly, diligently, effectively, and with an incredibly dedicated and caring staff.”
