PBA Local 15 holds annual toy drive

The Weehawken PBA Local 15 has begun hosting its annual Cops for Tots toy drive, and will be seeking donations of any new and unopened toys for all age groups. They’ve designated several drop-off locations throughout Weehawken for those looking to participate. These locations include:

  • 400 Park Ave, at either the Town Hall or Police Headquarters.
  • 201 Highwood Ave, at the Volunteer First Aid Squad headquarters.
  • Weehawken Public Library, at 49 Hauxhurst Ave.
  • Weehawken High School, at 53 Liberty Pl.
  • Riva Pointe, at 600 Harbor Blvd.

The deadline for donation receipts is Dec 20.

Kids ride free on NY Waterway ferries for the holidays

 The NY Waterway will be providing free ferry rides for all kids under the age of 12 until Jan. 1, 2019. There is a limit of 2 free rides for children for every adult ticket. No physical ticket is required for a child to ride for free. The Waterway also provides a free Manhattan shuttle service and real-time bus locator.

Residents invited to Wednesday ballroom dancing classes

The Weehawken Recreation department will be offering free ballroom dancing lessons each Wednesday as part of its winter recreation program. The lessons will be at the Senior Nutrition Center at 201 Highwood Ave. from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Both couples and singles are welcome.
