Celebrate the festival of trees Jan. 22 with the Jewish Young Adults of Hoboken

The Jewish Young Adults of Hoboken (JYAH) announced its annual celebration of Tu Bishvat, the Jewish festival of trees, shrubbery, and green appreciation.

The celebration is a Wine and Make-Your-Own-Terrarium  event on Tuesday,  Jan. 22,  from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the United Synagogue of Hoboken (USH), 115 Park Ave.

The Wine and Make-Your-Own-Terrarium event will feature all the supplies to make a perfect apartment-sized reminder of nature.

Tu Bishvat, known as “New Year of the Trees”, is celebrated in Israel as an ecological holiday.

Melissa, one of the leaders of the event, said, “Creating a bit of sustainable nature for one’s apartment is an excellent way to stay organically rooted in the modern world.”

Lauren, another young Jewish leader, said that “it’s an environment- and nature- appreciative version of the many Paint and Sip party establishments in Jersey City and Hoboken; it’s going to be great!”

All supplies, wine, and light refreshments are covered in the ticket costs of $20 online and $25 at the door. Tickets are available here.
