LOPEZ, LEOPOLD

Funeral services have been held for Leopold Lopez, 87, a two-time Purple Heart recipient, and decorated Korean War Veteran Hero. “Uncle Terry” peacefully passed away after an extended battle, with complications related to a heart ailment. Uncle Terry was a stalwart uncle to nephews Michael and Enrico and all of his numerous nieces and nephews. He worked for the City of New York in various altruistic capacities, and service agencies. Born and raised in New York City, he briefly lived in Puerto Rico as a child, and lived his many remaining years in Jersey City. A great conversationalist, his most warm-hearted experiences were when he would discuss life issues, either over the phone or over a stiff drink, whereby his philosophy was shared with those that he loved and who loved him. He is survived by his sister, Dolores Lopez, and numerous nephews, grand-nephews, nieces, and grand-nieces. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
