James Crawford, 21, of Jersey City, was arrested on Feb. 5 and charged with murder in connection to a homicide on Ocean Avenue last September, according to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez.

Crawford is the third suspect arrested in connection with the murder of Eric Crocker, 23, of Bayonne. Crawford was arrested on Feb. 5 by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit.

Two arrests were previously made in connection with Crocker’s murder. Jahmir Thomas, age 20, and Alexander Harris, age 29, both of Jersey City, were arrested in September 2018.

All three have been charged with murder and weapons-related crimes.

After his arrest, Crawford was processed and then transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility in Kearny. A motion for a detention hearing has been filed by the State.

Prosecutor Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit with the investigation and the arrest, as well as the Jersey City Police Department for assisting with the investigation.

The Prosecutor’s Office underscored that the charges are accusations; the defendants are innocent until proven guilty.
