GALLO, GIRO

A funeral liturgy was celebrated Jan. 31 St. Barnabas RC Church, Bayville, for Giro “Jerry” J. Gallo, 86. He passed away Jan.  27 at his son’s home in Aberdeen. Born in Bayonne, he lived in Jersey City prior to moving to Ocean Gate 35 years ago. He was employed as a tugboat captain with Operating Engineers Union Local 825 for many years until retiring. Jerry was a true family man and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed playing golf. He was predeceased by his wife, Concetta “Connie” Gallo in 2000 and his brothers, Joe and Louis Gallo. Jerry is survived by his sons and daughters in law, Giro and Dianne Gallo, Rick and Diane Gallo, Louis and Barbara Ann Gallo and James and Janet Gallo and 11 grandchildren, Giro, Michael, Louis, Samantha, Gabrielle, Gianna, Jenna, Mia, Sophia, Giovanni and Ava. Services arranged by the Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, Toms River.
