87, of Apex, NC, passed away on February 3, 2019, after a long illness, surrounded by his family. Born in New York City to the late John and Yolanda LaScala, he resided in Bayonne most of his life, and later in Monroe Township, NJ. Pepe was a husband of 52 years to wife Jackie, a father to his three girls and Poppy to his grandchildren. He served his country as an Army Veteran of the Korean war. Joseph was preceded in death by his brothers, John and Stephen LaScala. Pepe will be missed by his wife Jacqueline (Donovan), his daughters and son-in-laws; Laureen and Mark Cooney, Natalie and Patrick Macri and Kristie Jo and Edward Sapontzis and his six grandchildren, Callie Trainor, Joseph Trainor, Laina Perota, Cole Perota, Kaden Sapontzis and Damen Sapontzis, his brother Victor and wife Mary Lou LaScala.
